Welcome to Skinnarbu Mountain Hotel, a beatifully situated resort hotel at the entrance to the fantastic Hardangervidda nature in Norway, between the historically famous places of Rjukan and Rauland/Vinje.

Our warm and friendly staff is always here to welcome you to our cozy hotel in the middle of this pearl of Norwegian nature! We have cosy tourist rooms, inviting common areas inspired by the traditional Telemark colours, and all the amenities you could wish for while enjoying yourself 1000 meters above sea level. We have full service bar and restaurant, live music during the most of the year, a swimming pool with saunas, a billiard table and table tennis, and a movie-theatre style meeting room which can serve as a cartoon-theatre for kids.

Those interested in culture and history will have an ample offering of museums and attractions in the immediate surrounding area, both the Industry Workers Museum at Vemork, the Krossobanen Cable car from downtown Rjukan right up to the Hardangervidda Plateau, the Gaustabanen Cable car (which is an exciting and convenient  way of being transported to the top of the highest mountain in southern Norway almost without having to walk!), the collections of the famous Norwegian artist Dyre Vaa and the museum of Western Telemark. Many families who are here during the summer, even being busy every day for a full week, still wish they had more time to cover everything they wanted to do!

And when you come here, you will know that you are in good company with the many people that have been here before you, the first to settle in the region more than 8000 years ago, living here throgh the iron and viking ages. And still the area around Lake Møsvatn is one of Norways largest communities where people live year-round with no car-road connecting them to the world around, leaving them dependent on snow-scooters and boats, depending on the season. But no matter what the season, this is the place they want to be, and once you come to visit us, we trust you  will understand why!

The restaurant sits 300 guests and can easily be divided into smaller rooms. The restaurant is therefore well suited for small and bigger groups. It is also suitable for conferences and lectures.

The kitchen is modern and well equipped. The chef makes delicious courses based on local raw materials as elkmeat and fish. He is a master in satisfying the guests need for a good meal.
